Avengers recently assembled in Sacramento, CA Thursday night for the debut of Marvel Universe LIVE!! This is a live action show produced by Feld Entertainment. My entire family was blessed to see the show together, and I have to say that it was really fun! We are all fans of the Marvel franchise, each of us having our own favorite super heroes, of course.
What heroes will my child(ren) see?
We were happy to see that we knew most of the heroes, I was excited about Captain America, Thor, and Wolverine, while my kids were hooting and hollering for Iron Man, Spiderman, Hulk and Falcon! One character, Captain Marvel, was unfamiliar to us. I will be honest, I haven’t seen the recent installment of the Avengers, and it’s been ages since I’ve picked up Marvel comics! We went home and did some research on Captain Marvel and she sounds pretty awesome!
Tell us about the action!
The show featured pyrotechnics, motorcycles, humor and action-packed fight scenes! My boys were the most intrigued (ages 8 & 9), and they seemed pretty nervous at some parts as their heroes battled Loki and his crazy villainous army. As most super hero stories end, good triumphs over evil and all becomes right with the world once again.
We were impressed with the choreography of the fight scenes and especially the motorcycle and car chases! Spiderman was pretty awesome on the ramps and we enjoyed watching the various characters fly around the stage while protecting the universe. All in all, the show was great, I loved that the plot flowed well and was easy for all of my kids to follow.

How old should my child be?
I think that while this is a family show, it really isn’t for younger children, mainly due to the noise factor, darkness, and sudden explosions. We were surrounded by quite a few crying babies and toddlers, which affected my children’s enjoyment to a certain degree, some more than others. I’d say if your child doesn’t mind darkness and loud noises, and enjoys the content of the Marvel superheroes franchise, he or she should be okay. Honestly, under the age of 3 is not recommended if you want to have a magical evening, or enhance the experience of your fellow spectators. Make it a big kid date and get a sitter for the baby or wee-toddler. Aside from the fact that many of the little ones were probably exhausted because the show was later in the evening.
Is it over?
