Loki –the God of Mischief Coming to Disney Plus
It's really happening!
We were happily blown away by the recent Marvel Studios' limited, exclusive series on Disney+, WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier (hands down my favorite), and we have been preparing for LOKI to arrive. Our Disney Moms of Color Facebook community and our clubhouse chats are raring to go, especially now that our Android community members will be able to participate in this series of recap chats!
Who is Loki?
Guess who's baaaack?! If you don't already know, Loki is the mischievous deity of Asgard, hence his name, the God of Mischief. I've come to both love and hate him, sometimes at the same time; he is so smooth, smart, witty and I think I love him more, but definitely not more than his brother, Thor. Loki likes to have fun and tends to get himself in trouble with his pranks, but deep down I think he has some good heart in there somewhere irrespective of his selfishness.
What should we expect?
Listen, if I have learned one thing when it comes to the Marvel franchise, is to have my thoughts and theories, but really don't get tied to my assumptions of what may or may not happen in the film or show. If WandaVision and Falcon showed us anything, it's that we really have no idea what is coming!
What we do know is that this takes place after "Avengers: Endgame" and Loki (reprised by Tom Hiddleton) is currently being held by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) and is enlisted to help repair the time sequence that he messed up when he had the tesseract. Mobius, who I assume is the leader of TVA is played by funny man Owen Wilson (I am sure the kiddos will recognize his voice from another Disney franchise, Cars) is a main character in the series along with Gugu Mbatha-Raw (A Wrinkle in Time) and Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country). Can we (or they) trust Loki to get the job done without a prank or stabbing someone in the back? I don't know... only time will tell!
