Sooo anyone else get nostalgic and jump out their seats when they hear Quad City DJ's Space Jam? Ok, well, I do! I was a sophomore in HS when Space Jam originally came out in 1996. I spent hours making mix tapes for our basketball team warm ups and Space Jam was a crowd favorite! I may not have been a high scorer but I could throw down some tunes for warm up, LOL. Similar to the 1996 version, this film will be both animated and live action and I'm excited to hear the soundtrack as well, which is credited to Kris Bowers.
We are Laker fans here in this house, and I personally look forward to seeing "King" LeBron James and the Tunes Squad take on the Goon Squad. You'll see and hear notable Black voices like Don Cheadle, Zendaya (Lola Bunny), Khris Davis, Sonequa Martin-Green, and newcomer Cedric Joe who plays Dom.
What you need to know is that Space Jam: A New Legacy will be playing in theaters and same day release for free to HBO Max subscribers, July 16, 2021. I'll have more fun things coming your way as we get closer to the film and I can't wait!
